Dubai Civil Defence teams controlled a fire which erupted in a parking lot in the Al Qusais area in Dubai, with no injuries or casualties reported. In detail, a source at the Civil Defence Directorate stated that a team from the Al Qusais Centre rushed to the site of a report received by the Operations Room of the General Directorate of Civil Defence in Dubai at 10am on Friday, to find that a fire broke out in a parking lot for vehicles in the Al Qusais Industrial area 1.
The source added that the Civil Defence teams reached the scene within 5 minutes, followed by another team from the Rashidiya Support Centre where it was found that the fire broke out in a number of vehicles and that the nature of the flammable materials caused the emission of thick smoke.
The field commander affirmed that the fire was brought under control within 21 minutes and that it caused material damages only. He added that the cooling process continued until 12:59, before transferring the incident file to the competent authorities to complete the investigations.
