The Indian city of Gurgaon witnessed an exciting chase similar to a Hollywood movie, as the police managed on Saturday to catch livestock thieves, after a dangerous pursuit along 22 km, during which the thieves threw animals on the road, and they continued to escape despite the explosion of tires, according to local media.
The exciting chase, documented by a video, began in Haryana, showing police chasing thieves who drove their truck loaded with smuggled cows, when they entered Gurgaon from the Delhi border.
Police vans chased the thieves and shot them in an attempt to stop them, but the defendants continued to drive the truck at high speed, across the town, even after the truck had punctured tyres.
In a miserable attempt to distract the police, the thieves threw all the smuggled cows onto the road during their escape, which almost fell on its sides several times, but the police continued the dangerous pursuit along 22 km.
In the video, the police are seen trying to corner the thieves, who realized that their desperate attempt to escape would not succeed, after the truck could no longer move.
In the end, the five thieves surrendered to the police. Firearms and bullets were found in their possession.
Cow thefts are common in Haryana despite its strict laws, and that thefts are on the rise.
