Minister of Health and Prevention, Abdul Rahman Al Owais, mourned Dr Moawiyah Saleh Al Shunnar, who was one of the first doctors to practise medicine in the private sector in the UAE in the early sixties.
Al Owais praised the virtues of the late doctor, who spent more than 50 years serving people in every way, and set an example and a model in the medical field.
The family of the late doctor also mourned their father, saying, "With believing hearts which are satisfied with Allah's destiny and fate, our father Dr Al Shunnar moved to the mercy of Allah Almighty…”
The funeral prayer was held on Tuesday afternoon in the Al Quoz cemetery in the Emirate of Dubai.
The family said in the obituary statement, "Due to the emergency and exceptional circumstances and taking into account the precautionary measures, condolences will be accepted by phone, through WhatsApp, text messages and social media."
The late Dr Al Shunnar was the father of Saleh and Omar, Dr Amal and Dr Buthaina.
