Rains of different intensity fell on separate areas of the UAE on Monday as a result of the country being affected by a shallow air depression from the Red Sea and southern Iran, accompanied by humid easterly and southeasterly winds.
Moderate to heavy rains started falling at 12:30pm on Al Huwailat in Ras Al Khaimah, Wadi Al Helou in Sharjah, Wadi Mai and Hayl in Fujairah and Kalba, while light rains fell on Kalba ring road in Sharjah. The lowest temperature of 20 degrees Celsius was recorded at the Ras Al Khaimah International Airport at 5am. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on the public to exercise extreme caution while driving their vehicles during the rains due to the lack of visibility caused by the rains and sand-stirring winds.
