Dubai Swissotel fire near Burj Khalifa brought under control

Dubai Civil Defense teams have controlled a fire that broke out in air conditioning system at the Swissotel Al Murooj in the Burj Khalifa area in Dubai.

A source from the Dubai Civil Defense stated that teams from Zabeel Fire Station, first responders and competent authority, and teams from Al Rashidiya, Al Barsha and Al Ittihad centres, arrived within 4 minutes to the location after the operations room received an information at 3:19pm Wednesday, about the outbreak of the fire at the Swissotel Al Murooj.

The source continued, “The accident turned out to be a fire in some of the air conditioners on the roof of the hotel building, so the specialized teams began evacuation and firefighting operations.

Fire engines arrive at the site in Dubai.

The field commander confirmed that the accident was under control.

The direct cooling operations began within 28 minutes of arriving at the accident site.

There were no injuries.

The competent authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
