Sharjah Police warn motorists against disturbing peace by blaring horns

Some people misuse machines and tools, some of which are wrongly used on the roads and in the residential areas, such as using the horn or vehicle sound system in a way, which disturbs others.

These actions were included as violations of traffic laws in the UAE.

Captain Saud Al Shaiba, Director of Traffic Awareness and Media Branch at the Sharjah Police General Command said, “In light of the national strategies for quality of life which the UAE seeks to promote to reinforce the happiness of all, the traffic department plays a vital role in this regard, and among these roles is maintaining calm and tranquillity on the UAE roads and in residential areas especially since some areas are characterised by calmness and comfort.”

These areas, according to Al Shaiba are designated for comfort, and Article No 105 of the Traffic Law stipulates that a person who uses the horn or the vehicle sound system in a way which disturbs others or drives in internal residential areas or around educational institutions and hospitals that endangering the lives of others will incur a fine of Dhs400 and 4 black points.
