Two Emiratis sustained serious to moderate injuries after the vehicle they were in had overturned and gutted on a main street in Khorfakkan.
No fatalities were reported as a result of the accident, which took place in Khorfakkan City the early morning of Sunday, due to the fast response of the competent police authorities.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Rashid Al Yahyaee, Head of Khorfakkan Comprehensive Police Station, the operations room of the Eastern Region Police Department received a report at 2:50am on Sunday that an accident took place on Corniche Khorfakkan Street, as a result of which the vehicle caught fire.

Patrols and other civil defence vehicles and national ambulances rushed to the police and arrive there at a record time and were able to put out the fire and take the driver and his companion out of the vehicle.
The injured Emiratis were transported to the Khorfakkan Hospital for the necessary medical treatment.
Investigations showed that the driver lost control of the steering wheel as a result of excessive speed, causing the vehicle to swerve abruptly, overturn and catch fire.
