A woman who attended the pre-election rally in Wuppertal threw eggs at the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, on Monday.
The Minister took the floor at the pre-election rally in that place in order to support the Green candidate Mona Neubauer, when a woman from the audience threw eggs at her.
The rally was held on the eve of the provincial elections in North Rhine-Westphalia, and Baerbock reacted very calmly, skillfully avoided the egg and continued her address.
"You can throw as many eggs as you want," said the minister, adding that she did not allow anyone to intimidate her, and told the woman who threw eggs that she had the right to her opinion, but that her way was not the best, according to local media.
Police said that "the egg missed the target" and that criminal charges were filed against the woman who threw the eggs for attempting to inflict bodily injuries.
