An Arab young man assaulted a paramedic while he was performing his job. The Dubai Misdemeanour Court sentenced him to one month in jail to be followed by deportation and fined him Dhs5,000. The Court of Appeal, however, upheld the verdict but revoked the deportation measure against the convict.
The case dates back to last January when a paramedic filed a complaint in which he stated that he had been assaulted and threatened to be killed by an Arab at the International City in Dubai.
The victim stated in the investigations that he arrived in a place where an Arab was reported to be injured in a residential apartment in the England Cluster, International City. There, he saw an Arab man with bruises accompanied by an Asian man and woman.
