VIDEO: 65-year-old Egyptian farmer goes viral with his dance after good harvest

A video clip went viral on the social networking site Facebook showing the joy of an Egyptian farmer as he danced while harvesting the wheat crop (The yellow gold) before supplying it to the barns and silos designated for storage in the governorate to which he belonged.

Fawzi Al-Saiti, 65, is, one of the oldest farmers and most famous farmers of the Beheira Governorate in Egypt.

He explained that he descends from Bedouin origins that extend to the Arab tribes in Libya, and that he works in agriculture, his father and grandfather were farmers too, in this area whose lands have been leased for decades.

Commenting on the video that topped the social networking sites, he said, “Since my childhood, I planted wheat like my father and grandfathers. I was very happy with the harvest. My cousin Hani came to me in my field and said that this year’s harvest is good…”

Upon hearing this, “I happily danced with him.”

Regarding the productivity of the wheat crop on his land, Al Saiti said: “An acre produced 25 Ardeb, and when I saw the production, I flew into joy.”

Ardeb, a unit of capacity used for dry measure in Egypt and neighboring countries, officially equivalent in Egypt to 5.62 US bushels.

Fawzi, who lives in a remote village, tells his story, which has become the talk of various media outlets. He said that as if I am a minister... All this is because one of our children published a video and I am rich in harvesting wheat,” adding, “All that was in the matter was that I was happy because my acres of land brought more than 25 Ardebs, and this is more than anyone in the whole side.”
