Authorities seized a foreign ship carrying smuggled fuel in Iran's southern province of Hormozgan province and detained its crew, state new agency IRNA said on Wednesday.

The ship, carrying more than 550,000 litres of smuggled fuel, was seized in Gulf waters and escorted to harbour, where it was handed to judicial authorities for the necessary investigations, the agency added.
"Seven crew members were arrested," it cited an unidentified judicial official as saying.
