The postmortem report of vlogger and YouTube artiste Rifa Mehnu, 21, who was found dead in her flat in Dubai on 1 March, confirmed that she committed suicide by hanging.
The report said the marks seen on her neck are that of hanging and that there is no mystery in the death, as alleged by her parents.
The results of her internal organs examination is yet to come.
Rifa’s parents had alleged that her husband Mehnas, 26, a native of Kasaragod, was behind her death, saying that he showed undue haste in getting the body buried.
Despite the post mortem report, the family will go ahead with the case for abetment to suicide, according to their lawyer.
After getting permission from the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), police exhumed Rifa’s body and autopsy was conducted on May 7.

Her family had lodged a complaint with the Kozhikode Rural Superintendent of Police alleging that there was no chance for her to commit suicide and raised suspicion on her husband’s behaviour.
According to the officials, the man was reportedly upset over her social media influence and the increasing number of subscribers to her YouTube channel.
Police believe that the girl hailing from Balussery was a victim of her husband’s alleged mental torture over her social media popularity.
According to Rifa’s family, she had no reason to commit suicide. On the previous day of her death, Rifa who reached home after work, had video called and spoke to her two-year-old son and parents in Kerala.
The next day, her family came to know about her death. The authorities in the UAE shared information with the authorities in Indian and the legal paper works were completed.
