The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Sharjah announced that it is increasing the speed limit on Wadi Madiq-Sharjah road, from 80 km/h to 100 km/h.
The authority said “It was decided to adjust the speed of the Wadi Madiq-Sharjah road, from 80 km/h, to 100 km/h, due to the smoothness of the road, and its absence of residential communities and nearby urban centers, where speed may pose a danger.”
The authority explained this decision comes due to the smoothness of the road that may allow to motorists to drive carefully.
Since the area does not have residential complex and much habitation, the increase in speed limit will save road farer's time.
On the other hand, on May 11, the authority had decided to implement a complete closure of Tariq Bin Ziyad Street (Khorfakkan City) in the direction of the Corniche Street, for maintenance work and raising the efficiency of asphalt during the period from Thursday, May 12, 2022, until Friday, May 27.
