Abu Dhabi Police managed to seize a gang of 4 people of Arab nationality, in possession of 600,000 Captagon narcotic tablets, in an operation called "Poison Stones."
Major General Mohammed Suhail Al Rashidi, Director of the Criminal Security Sector, stressed the Abu Dhabi Police's interest in following an integrated strategy to pursue and apprehend drug traffickers, no matter how they hard they try or invent different methods and misleading methods to promote their criminal trade.
Brigadier Taher Ghareeb Al Dhaheri, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, stated that this gang tried to hide drugs in an innovative way inside the stones that are used for construction, but the efficiency and competence of the combat men prevented them from achieving their goal.
The police stressed the success of Abu Dhabi Police in seizing narcotic substances and arresting the promoters due to the support of the rational leadership and providing the necessary means to prosecute those involved in drug cases in order to achieve the national strategy to enhance security and safety in the Emirate through crime detection and prevention.
Al Dhaheri called on community members to strengthen ways of cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Police in tackling the scourge of drugs, and reducing the risks of its spread among young people, by immediately reporting any information they might receive regarding drug issues and not responding to random advertisements for drug promotion, especially through social media.
