Mohamed Bin Zayed, Mohammed Bin Rashid congratulate Omran Sharaf

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktou, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, expressed their pride in the new achievement and wished Omran Sharaf success in his new role and noted UAE’s contributions to the space sector.

“Congratulations to Omran Sharaf, Project Director of the Emirates Mars Mission, on his election as Director of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space. The UAE continues to make notable contributions to the space sector and we wish Omran every success in his new role,” Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed twitted. 

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid expressed his pride and honour for that the UAE will chair the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space ‘COPUOS.’

Sheikh Mohammed also expressed his pride in the son of the UAE, Omran Sharaf, who will now chair ‘COPUOS’ for a period of two years (2022-2023), pointing out that the UAE youth have brought us to space, lead global files and run international institutions.

Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter, "Proud of that the UAE will chair the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space "COPUOS" with 100 member states countries, as it plays a major role in governing the exploration and use of space for the benefit of all humanity. I am also proud of the son of the UAE, Omran Sharaf, for the honor of holding this high international position. The UAE youth have brought us to space, lead global files and run international institutions.”
