A car collided with private minibus ferrying school students in Sharjah on Wednesday morning.
The accident claimed the life of two students and three others were injured.
The police said that the accident took place in Al Siji area of Fujairah.
An official source said the injured were taken to Al Dhaid Hospital where they are currently being treated.
The deceased victims, who were laid to rest after the noon prayer, were in grade for 4 and 6.
The collision occurred when they were on their way to school in Sharjah and a SUV driven by a woman collided with the minibus. The injured students are two Emirati girls in the Kindergarten and Grade 1 and a Grade 5 boy.
The bus driver and supervisor sustained serious injuries due to the collision.
The school condoled the families of the victims and wished speed recovery for the injured.
The Emirates National Schools said on their Facebook page, “With great sadness and sorrow, and with hearts that believe in God's will, we received today the sad news of the death of two of our students, Ali Nasser Ali Al-Hafri Al-Ketbi, from grade 6 and Muhammad Saif Ali Al-Hafri Al-Ketbi from the grade 4, in a traffic accident while they were on their way to school at the Sharjah Campus, on Wednesday morning, June 1, 2022.
“The family of Emirates National Schools extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, praying to the Almighty God to inspire their families and relatives patience and solace. May god bless their souls.”
“We also wish a speedy recovery to our students Khalifa Ali Salem Al-Zahmi in grade 5, Alia Nasser Ali Al-Hafri Al-Ketbi in grade 1, and Moza Nasser Ali Al-Hafri Al-Ketbi in KG, who were injured during the same bitter accident."
