Thousands of Dawoodi Bohras from all parts of the world have come out on World Environment Day to engage in various activities to preserve the environment.
The Dawoodi Bohras of Sharjah, in association with Bee’ah mobilised efforts to organise a clean-up drive in Al Manakh area of Sharjah.
The drive was participated by 67 volunteers and 3,940 kg waste was collected during the drive.
The activity was undertaken under the banner of Project Rise which is the global philanthropic arm of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
Project Rise deals with a wide spectrum of initiatives and activities in varied fields including but not limited to healthcare, nutrition, hygiene, environmental responsibility and conservation as well as education. It aims to bring about a wholesome and comprehensive uplift in the lives of all humankind.
