The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that it will begin implementing the ban on work performed under the sun and in open places from 12:30pm until 3:00pm, starting June 15 until Sept.15.
Mohsen Al Nassi, Director of the Inspection System Department, MoHRE, said that the mid-day break, which is being implemented for the 18th consecutive year, comes as part of the ministry's continued implementation of its integrated system for occupational health and safety, which aims to provide a safe work environment for workers.
Excluded from the mid-day break are some jobs that cannot be postponed for technical reasons, jobs to ward off danger, reparation, damage, malfunctions or accidental losses, and projects whose implementation requires a permit from a competent government authority due to their impact on the flow of traffic and services.
