Policeman kills woman, shoots himself afterwards in Kolkata

A woman biker died after one Police personnel fired bullets outside Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata.

The Police personnel then shot himself dead.

Senior Police officials are present at the spot.

According to a local journalist, Tamal Saha, said, “This is the constable who opened firing near Bangladesh HC in #Kolkata. He went inside few houses randomly, walked in & out. Locals said he was looking for someone. There was no crowd there. Then suddenly he opened firing.

Police claim he might have been suffering from a mental state…”

Saha later said, “The firing in Kolkata has no link with protests happening at Park Circus area post Friday prayers.

1 constable posted outside Bangladesh High Commission had suddenly opened firing without any warning. There was no protest happening near him. One passerby killed. He then shot himself.”
