The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) issued a circular to medical treatment service providers and health insurance companies firms licensed by the Department of Health to work in the health field, regarding Cabinet Resolution No. (6/8/W) of 2019 to grant citizens of crisis-stricken countries and war zones an extendable one-year permit.
In accordance to the Resolution, it was decided to grant citizens of Ukraine present in the UAE who hold tourist and visit visas and other categories of expired visas, residence visas of “crisis-stricken countries and war zones” for one year as of March 23, 2022.

The aforementioned categories are also permitted to conduct the medical test regardless of the status of the entry permit in the country, so that they can complete the procedures for getting residence visa.
In addition, they will continue benefiting from the health insurance for emergency cases with a reduced fee for six months. And In the event their situation is not settled during this period, the health insurance will be extended for 6 months, until the completion of the residency renewal procedures.
No financial fines due to the expiration of the health insurance card will be collected, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 23 of 2005 regarding health insurance in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the DoH confirmed.
