In India it is quite common to see groom, bride and guests at a marriage dancing almost insanely with nobody bothering to stop them.
In fact others who are not dancing seem to enjoy the peppy music accompanied by the not-so-synchronised but entertaining dance performances.
But then there is a limit to everything and one’s enjoyment remains so as long as it doesn’t create trouble for others.
Law of the land deal with such troublesome merry-makers with an iron fist.
This is exactly happened in a city in India’s Uttar Pradesh recently.
Members of a marriage party along with the groom were fined Rs200,000 (almost Dhs10,000) for dancing in an open roof Audi on a busy road in Muzaffarnagar.
A video that has gone viral on social platforms shows marriage party members grooving with hands up in the air and taking selfies in a cavalcade of high-end cars.
In the stunt on the Muzaffarnar-Haridwar national highway some of the men are even seen hanging out of the windows of their cars.
Police swung into action after receiving the video from a motorist Ankit Kumar who shared the clip on Twitter.
All the nine cars used in the marriage procession were seized and police issued a hefty fine of Rs200,000.
Ankit drew the attention of the authorities towards the fact that marriage party’s stunt poses a danger to the safety of fellow commuters.
"During my journey from Haridwar to Noida, some people in Muzaffarnagar district were putting other people's lives in danger for their entertainment. Hope the traffic police will take cognizance of the matter," Ankit tweeted along with the video.
