An elderly woman at a railway station in India had a miraculous escape from a certain death and her savior has become an Internet sensation after the video of brave rescue act went viral.
The head constable has been identified as Kamlesh Kumar Dubey, 59, who will be retiring after 18 months.
The policeman wasted no time once he saw the woman losing the grip while trying to climb back on the platform from the tracks.
Dubey ran towards the woman without thinking of the danger lurking around as he could see a speeding Madhya Pradesh Sampark Kranti Express train approaching.
As soon as Dubey pulled the woman back to safety, the Express train passed them.
The incident took place in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The video shows an elderly woman defying orders from Dubey, trying to cross the tracks.
The alert Railway Police Force official anticipated the situation and rescued the elderly woman.
The Indian Ministry of Railways shared the video on Twitter, and said, “The woman's life was saved by the vigilance and promptness of the RPF personnel!
“An elderly woman crossing the track at Lalitpur station of Jhansi division was saved by the railway security personnel posted there…
“All are requested to use Foot Over Bridge to go from one platform to another.”
The ministry urged the members of the public to avoid such reckless acts that put life in danger.
