Negligent motorists caused horrific traffic accidents in the streets of Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Police have said.
The Abu Dhabi Police warned of the dangers of not obeying traffic rules while driving in the streets.
The police said that accidents happened because motorists were paying attention to the road and the traffic in front of them.
The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) shared videos showing a number of road accidents, in which they highlighted the risks of preoccupying with other things while driving, and the risk of jumping the red signal.
The Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Follow-up and Control Center, broadcasted a video of accidents due to being busy with other than the road to educate motorists in the UAE.
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police warned drivers of the dangers of being busy while driving using the phone, turning the driver to talk to his companions or being busy with photography, adjusting make-up and grooming, and other behaviours that lead to a loss of focus and deviation of the vehicle, which is one of the main causes of serious traffic accidents.
The police said that the violation of being busy on the road while driving the vehicle in any way was Dhs800 and 4 black points.

The police also called on the public to obtain information about the accident from official sources and not share any videos and photos of the incident.
