UAE’s astronaut Saleh AlAmeri completed his first UAE Analog Mission after 8 months of isolation as part of the "SIRIUS-21" mission on Sunday.
In a historic moment, the team stepped out of the isolation facility waving at the media and experts.
Local media broadcast videos of Saleh Al Ameri and the SIRIUS-21’s crew exit the isolated facility after completing the mission successfully.
Saleh Al Ameri said, “I am proud of the mission's success, and I am proud to present this achievement to our wise leadership.”
Al Ameri said, “I consider myself to have served my nation for 240 days, and I am grateful to my colleague Abdalla Al Hammadi for his support.”
UAE first astronaut Hazzaa Al Mansoori said, “Congratulations to analog astronaut Saleh AlAmeri for completing the 1st UAE Analog Mission after 8 months of isolation as part of the "SIRIUS-21" mission. The experiments that simulate various space environments shape the future of our missions.”
