Man stabs his wife in front of the court in Jordan

A Jordanian man stabbed his wife on Monday afternoon in a public street in front of the Sharia Court of the Karak Governorate, in the south of the kingdom.

A security source confirmed that the husband had been arrested and an investigation had been opened into the incident, while the injured woman was taken to the hospital, and her health condition is stable.

Eyewitnesses stated that previous family disputes led them to review the case at Sharia court, before the situation escalated and the husband used a sharp tool in his possession and stabbed her several times.

Last week, the High Criminal Court issued a death sentence for a 50-year-old who had stabbed his ex-wife before the Northern "Rusaifa" Sharia Court in a similar incident.
