UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has congratulated Rulers of the Emirates, citizens and residents of the UAE on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said on Twitter, “Congratulations to my brothers, the Rulers of the Emirates, citizens and residents of the UAE, and Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. May God continue to bless our nation and bring peace and harmony to the people of the world.”
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has congratulated UAE citizens and residents on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter, “On this great day, the day of Arafat, we ask Allah Almighty to accept the Hajj from all pilgrims and the good deeds from all of us. We hereby congratulate the UAE people and those of the Arab and Islamic nation on the blessed Eid Al Adha, wishing them to be in good health and to stay safe. May you be well every year…”
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, sent a congratulatory message to his brother, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
In his message, Sheikh Sultan expressed his deepest congratulations and blessings to the President of the UAE and wished him continued health and wellness, and to the Arab and Islamic nations goodness and blessings.
The Ruler of Sharjah also sent similar congratulatory messages to Sheikh Mohammed and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates.
Several areas in the UAE have been decorated to mark the auspicious festival.
The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has completed the installation of thousands of formations, optical engineering models and illuminated strips suspended between lighting poles in a number of areas in Abu Dhabi Island and external cities located within the geographical scope of the municipality and its subsidiary centers, to celebrate this occasion, and to bring joy and pleasure to the hearts of individuals the society.
In response to this blessed occasion, the municipality teams worked to install harmonious light panels that embody the spirituality of the holiday and what it represents to members of the community, constitutes creative masterpieces bearing many of the well-known greeting phrases, combined with elements of nature, to give this homogeneous mixture integrated aesthetic images. “May our blessings be with you.”
In Saudi Arabia, hundreds of thousands of Muslim pilgrims from around the world raised their hands to heaven and offered prayers of repentance on the sacred hill of Mount Arafat in Saudi Arabia on Friday, an intense day of worship considered to be the climax of the annual Hajj.
Groups of worshippers, many holding umbrellas against the fierce sun, recited verses from the Quran on the rocky rise where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is believed to have given his final sermon.
Prayers on Mount Arafat are the highlight of the annual pilgrimage, capped this year at one million people including 850,000 from abroad.
Authorities said Friday that the number of pilgrims reached 899,353, including 779,919 from outside the kingdom.
