Civic body Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) believes in eco-friendly behaviour. It backs to the hilt saving energy and water as much as possible and frequently raises awareness among the people through its initiatives. The idea is to protect natural resources and cut down on carbon footprint.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, has praised DEWA’s commitment to achieving a balance between development and environment to protect the rights of the future generations in living in a clean, healthy, and safe environment, according to WAM.
As its head Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said, they are guided by the forward-looking vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to tackle climate challenges. It is this ethos that underpins the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show, which DEWA is organising from 27th to 29th September.
Since its launch in 1999, WETEX has witnessed major growth and has become one of the stellar exhibitions that attract people from all over the globe. It spearheads the focus on green technologies, renewable energy, green buildings, electric vehicles, and other key areas.
The exhibitions have enormous touristy potential. WETEX and Dubai Solar Show 2021 attracted 1,200 companies from 55 countries and 61 sponsors and 10 country pavilions. The event attracted 45,506 visitors from all over the world. They contribute to strengthening the Emirate’s economy, which has achieved a growth of 6.2% in 2021 and 5.9% in the first quarter of 2022.
