A man was ordered by the Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court to pay a total of Dhs30,000 to a woman as compensation for her moral harm caused by the insulting messages he sent through ‘WhatsApp’ application.
In the details, a woman filed a lawsuit against a man demanding that he pay Dhs100,000 in compensation for the moral harm she sustained as a result of being insulted through the WhatsApp.
The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court fined the defendant of Dhs20,000 and ordered him to pay the plaintiff Dhs10,000 for her moral harm caused by the insulting phrases.
The defendant appealed against the judgment, demanding to commute it, but the Court rejected the appeal and upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance. He was also obligated to pay the fees and expenses.
