Two minor brothers who were employed at a house in the defence area of Lahore city, were brutally beaten for taking food from fridge without permission on Eid second day.
As a result of which 11-year-old boy, Kamran, succumbed to his injuries, while his 7-year-old brother, Rizwan, was reported as seriously injured.
The victim Kamran and Rizwan from Bahawalpur district of Punjab province, had been working as domestic servants for a year in the house of a senior citizen named Nasrullah. On the second day of Eid, reportedly, the victims were hungry and took food from the fridge.
When the family members came to know about their move, they were infuriated and tortured the brothers and later shifted them to a local hospital when their condition deteriorated, where Kamran succumbed to his injuries.
Police were subsequently contacted by the hospital staff, who had made the call upon noticing the severity of the minor children conditions.
An FIR was registered against all the five suspects under Section 302, 311, 34 of PPC and Punjab Restriction on Employment of Children Act 2016, according to a report published in daily The News.
According to a senior police officer, the three suspects nominated in the FIR identified as Nasarullah, his wife Shabana and son Mehmood-ul Hassan, have been detained on the chargers of murder and torture.
The officer said that Nasrullah’s other son Abdul Hassan and his daughter-in-law managed to escape and are currently being pursued by the police.
According to the statement given to the police by the accused, the brothers were tortured for allegedly, eating food out of the fridge.
