Nishad Hussain, Chairman of World Star Holding, was honoured by Sharjah Government's Labour Standards Development Authority for his excellent vision for labourers' happiness.
In a ceremony held at Sharjah Sajja Labour Park, he received an appreciation award from LSDA Chairman HE Salam Yousef Al Qaseer.
Sharjah LSDA Director Umer Sharji, Red Crescent Coordinator Abdulatheef Al Qazi and social activist Abdullah Kamanpalam were present at the event. Nishad Hussain said that awards like this will give more motivation and strength to labour welfare activities.
On the last International Workers' Day, eight people who have shown excellent service in previous years were selected from the seven thousand workers of the World Star company and honoured with a Rolls Royce car ride, Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab visit, and luxury living experience at a five-star hotel. This initiative has received a lot of compliments from many parts of the world.
Earlier, The World Star Holding Company set a new record by installing free Wi-Fi and television screens in the Labour buses. The project was started to alleviate the mental stress among the workers, and also the company has set up a spacious and state-of- the-art facility in Sharjah-Sajja to provide better training and classes to the workers.
World Star workers are involved in many development projects in the country like the construction works of Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Metro, Dubai Frame, Dubai Expo, Future Museum etc. At present thousands of labourers working for Etihad Rail.
