Iraqi woman dies after botched-up beauty surgery

An Iraqi woman in her twenties died as a result of complications after undergoing a plastic surgery in one of the centres in the Al Ghadir area in Baghdad.

The security authorities indicated that the victim, born in 2000, died while performing a liposuction operation in a beauty centre, according to "Alsumaria News" website on Sunday.

The website indicated that the girl’s father filed a complaint against her husband and the centre’s staff, pending the judge’s approval, to take the necessary action against the centre and its staff.

The site stated that this is not the first time as more than once patients have lost their lives due to medical errors, most of which were caused by cosmetic surgeries.

In February 2022, Eman Jawad, 25, died after complications from a liposuction surgery in a cosmetic centre, according to the Iraqi Al Sharqiya channel.
