A man in China is being hailed as hero after he caught a two-year-old girl who fell from the window of her fifth floor flat.
The video of the heroic rescue was shared on twitter by China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian.
‘Heroes among us,’ the official captioned the video which has garnered over 139,000 views since it was uploaded on social media platform.
The incident took place in Tongxiang in Zhejiang province.
The video shows a man talking on his mobile and a woman running towards a building, within seconds the man throws his mobile and catches the toddler in his arms.
According to the local media reports the man has been identified as as 31-year-old Shen Dong.
Dong told media that he heard a loud sound after the toddler landed on the steel roofing on the first-floor terrace.
He said the little girl then slipped from the edge of the terrace but he caught seconds before she could hit the pavement.
The kid has injured her legs and lungs but she was in stable condition after receiving the treatment at a hospital.
Netizens were all praise for him. Some of them even urged authorities to reward the man for his prompt and life-saving act.
Some said he is a ‘real life hero not a reel hero.’
