The UAE authorities said that buses have been provided to ferry flood-affected residents.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) said, “Buses belonging to the Ministry of Community Development have also been provided, which, in addition to the many means of transportation available in the affected areas, have been provided to speed up the transportation of families and ensure the safety of all their members.”
It also said a provision of 56 buses are ready in the event of any developments that require an increase in the number.
In addition to that more than 20 hotel establishments are providing so far 827 rooms to accommodate more than 1,885 people in various emirates and regions of the country.
The NCEMA said, “We commend the efforts of the Ministry of Community Development, which since yesterday evening, Wednesday, has been sheltering families affected by rain in the eastern regions of the country, where the teams have moved and rescued 150 people from the affected areas to hotel housing units, with continuous work to provide their needs after transportation.”
It also said, “We commend the role of all national and local authorities that work and contribute to containing the repercussions of the weather situation, through continuous monitoring and tracking operations.”
All parties at the national and local levels continue to follow up and monitor the weather situation, follow up on its changes, and ensure that all preventive measures are taken to ensure mitigating its impact on various regions.
