UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent congratulatory messages to kings, presidents and emirs of the Arab and Islamic countries on the occasion of the new Hijri Year 1444.
The UAE President wished them good health and happiness, further progress and prosperity for their peoples and dignity and glory for Arab and Islamic nations.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, dispatched similar greetings to Arab and Islamic leaders on the occasion.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said on Twitter, “Congratulations to the people of the UAE and to Muslims around the world on the occasion of Hijri New Year. We pray to God that the year ahead will be one of progress and stability, as we reflect on the significance of the Prophet’s migration in pursuit of peace and security.”
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid said, “We are receiving a new Hijri year, 1444 AH… May Allah Al Mighty grant it to us, to our people, to our country, to all Muslim countries and to the whole world with security, faith, safety and success. Happy New Year. I wish you will be good every year.”
The Saudi Supreme Court announced that Saturday will be the first day of the month of Muharram for 1444 Hijri, according to Umm Al Qura calendar, corresponding to July 30 2022, as the crescent of the month of Muharram had not been sighted on Thursday.
It added that this means that tomorrow Friday will be the completion of the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1443 Hijri according to Umm Al Qura calendar, corresponding to July 29, 2022, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
