Heavy rain and thunderstorm lashed Riyadh on Sunday, causing floods and puddles in some valleys and roads.
Videos circulating on social media showed floods in the city of Riyadh.
Some valleys and reefs in Thadiq Governorate, north of Riyadh, witnessed a rise in the water level, as well as the Ushaiger Governorate, northwest of Riyadh.
The National Center of Meteorology had predicted in its report the formation of rainy thunderclouds accompanied by active winds that raise dust, which will continue in parts of the Eastern Riyadh and Qassim regions, as well as on parts of the Al-Baha region, its impact extending to the heights of the Makkah region.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence called on citizens and residents to stay away from valleys and abide by its instructions and guidelines.
The Jazan region also witnessed heavy to medium rain in a number of governorates, which resulted in torrents and reefs, and contributed to lowering the temperature.
The governorates of Al-Aydabi, Al-Ardah, and parts of Sabya, Harroub, and Baysh witnessed scattered rain.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence renewed warnings to people against taking risks in valleys and swamps and avoiding everything that puts lives and property in jeopardy.
