The UAE Public Prosecution (PP), on Wednesday, clarified through a post published on its social media accounts the penalty of publishing information on the web for the trade and promotion of narcotics and psychotropics.
The UAE PP said that in accordance with the Article 31 of the Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 for Combating E-crimes and Rumors, whoever creates, manages, or oversees a website or publishes information on the World Wide Web or via a means of information technology for the trade or promotion of narcotics or psychotropics and alike or one how to consume the same or to facilitate the dealing therein on other than the legally permitted cases, shall be sentenced to temporary imprisonment and/or fined a monetary penalty of not less than Dhs500,000 and not more than Dhs1 million.
