The Dubai Police arrested a gang of three Asians on the charge of stealing electrical cables worth in total Dhs27,000.
In the details, Al Refa’h Police Station received a report, stating that amount of electrical cable had been stolen from an under construction site in the Al Mankhool area by unknown persons. Immediately, a security team led by the director of the police station moved to scene, where they initiated investigation into the incident following examination of the scene.
The Criminal Investigation Department entrusted a competent team, who commenced immediately the search and investigation to uncover the mystery of the robbery.
It was found that the burglars formed a gang specialized in the theft of cables, copper wires or metal sheets, which are sometimes cut in the same location if the place is free of guards or moved to another place in Dubai or other emirates. The stolen items are then sold to scrap shops, the police said.
The security team was able to locate and arrest the suspects, who confessed to the robberies they committed. Consequently, they were referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal actions.
