The "One Community Hand by Hand" is a joint initiative between Zayed Higher Organisation and Al Wahda Club Academy, which distributes juice and water to workers.
Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination confirmed that the celebration on Aug.19 of each year of "World Humanitarian Day," which bears the slogan "One Hand Does Not Clap" for the current year 2022, is an opportunity to promote the values of love, tolerance, giving and human brotherhood.
"Humanitarian work in the UAE has become a purely authentic approach, and the behaviour of the UAE and its honourable people is in adherence to the approach of Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and in harmony with the instructions of the wise leadership," the organisation said.
The "One Community Hand by Hand" initiative was implemented with the participation of People of Determination and Al Wahda Academy under-13 juniors in the Shahama area by distributing juice and water to workers in some construction areas in Abu Dhabi.

This was done within the framework of the humanitarian mission, and the societal integration of People of Determination carried out by Zayed Higher Organisation since humanity is an integral part of the customs, traditions and ethics of the various components of the UAE society and since it is a part of the morals urged by all monotheistic religions. Helping and being kind to them is among the morals of a Muslim who cares about the affairs of others.
The organisation noted that humanitarian work is one of the broadest fields in which people may work, as it achieves humanity among social groups. It includes several domains, for example, providing support and assistance to the poor and needy people and building an integrated community by creating voluntary teams.
The Al Wahda Sports Club Academy confirmed that humanitarian work is a civilised approach and the duty of every human being since all customs and revealed religions imbibed its importance. The participation of football players of the al-Wahda club in this initiative intends to achieve the purpose of supporting and promoting the initiative to integrate People of Determination into societal participation. It is also to accustom and educate young people on compassion, enhance brotherhood, and establish the values of humanity among the members of society, and the great importance of humanitarian work as it contributes to helping those who counter difficulties and critical conditions in meeting the requirements of life.
World Humanitarian Day is defined as one of the international days celebrated in August of each year to recall humanitarian workers, the unprecedented obstacles and challenges they counter while performing their relief tasks, and their tireless and continuous attempts to reach people around the world, providing them with assistance during humanitarian crises such as floods, earthquakes, wars, conflicts and epidemic outbreak.
Each year, World Humanitarian Day focuses on a theme, bringing together partners across the humanitarian system to advocate for the survival, well-being and dignity of people affected by crises and for the safety and security of aid workers.
