‘Smart’ nurses to spend more time with patients in UK

Now, even nurses in Britain are turning “smart,” they will wear virtual reality-style goggles so that they can spend more time with patients.

The trial will be conducted by the National Health Service in the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust area from next week.

The high-tech glasses will transcribe appointments directly to electronic records, according to the Independent.

This will leave nurses with more moments for checking blood pressure, dressing wounds and assessing a patient’s health needs.

It will save valuable time spent filling out forms and patient data.

The goggles will allow staff to share live footage directly with hospital colleagues so that they can get a second opinion.

This gets round the necessity of further appointments or hospital admissions. They will also show images to measure to what extent wounds and injuries have healed.
