UAE President issues 11 decrees

The UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed issued 11 federal decrees, ratifying agreements with a number of countries.

The decrees were published in the latest issue of the Official Gazette.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed issued the Decree No. 55 of 2022, ratifying the agreement on the transfer of convicts between the UAE and the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Decree No. 56 of 2022, ratifying an extradition agreement between the UAE and the Kingdom of Denmark, and the Decree No. 57 of 2022, ratifying an agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between the UAE and the Kingdom of Denmark.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed also issued the Decree No. 58 of 2022, ratifying an agreement between the governments of the UAE and the US on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, and Decree No. 59 of 2022, ratifying an agreement between the governments of the UAE and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on mutual encouragement and protection of investments.

The President also issued the Decree No. 60 of 2022, ratifying an agreement between the UAE and the Russian Federation to transfer convicts, the Decree No. 61 of 2022, ratifying an agreement between the UAE and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, and the Decree No. 62 of 2022, ratifying an extradition agreement between the UAE and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

He also issued the Decree No. 63 of 2022, ratifying an agreement between the UAE and the Kingdom of Belgium on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, the Decree No. 64 of 2022, ratifying an agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between the governments of the UAE and the Republic of Senegal, and the Decree No. 65 of 2022, ratifying the extradition agreement between the governments of the UAE and the Republic of Senegal.

Earlier in the week, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed issued a Federal Law Decree on the establishment and regulation of the Citizens and Community Affairs Office of the Presidential Court.

Decree No. 2 for 2022 stipulates that the Citizens and Community Affairs Office, which will have its own legal personality and administrative and financial independence, will be established at the Presidential Court and report to the minister concerned.

The decree also stipulates that the office’s headquarters will be in Abu Dhabi, and it may establish branches inside or outside the country upon the minister’s discretion.
