The Ras Al Khaimah Police have arrested a 25-year-old Asian motorist for performing dangerous stunts on the streets of the emirate.
Brigadier Ahmed Saeed Al-Sam Al-Naqbi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at the General Department of Central Operations in Ras Al Khaimah, explained that the details of this incident began with the Department's Investigation and Traffic Control Department receiving a report about the spread of a video clip through social media of a person performing dangerous stunts with his vehicles that threaten his safety and the safety of other road users.
A specialized team was formed from the Commentary Branch to follow up on the matter and take the necessary action.
The team members were able to identity the vehicle and its driver.
The police said that the vehicle was seized, while the driver was referred to the competent authorities on charges of endangering his life and the lives of others.
All legal measures would be taken against him.
The police urged road users and vehicle drivers to respect traffic regulations and laws and not to commit such violations that threaten public safety and expose their perpetrators to legal accountability.
The police said that there are hefty fines for such violations.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police said according to the Federal Traffic law Article No. 1, there is a fine of Dhs2,000, with 23 black points, along with the confiscation of the vehicle for a period of 60 days for anyone who drives a vehicle in a way that endangers his life or the life of others, safety or security of others, in addition to driving a vehicle in a manner that would endanger other road users, damage public or private facilities.
Ras Al Khaimah Police called on all members of society to report any incident on 999 or for inquiries on the number 901.
