Melinda Gates once said, “If you are successful, it is because somewhere, sometime, someone gave you a life or an idea that started you in the right direction.”
In the case of the Emirati women, the spark of encouragement and motivation comes from the leadership. The leaders believe in empowering the Emirati woman in all sectors.
The pioneering role of the leaders has even been emphasised by Khawla Al Serkal, Director General of Sharjah Ladies Club, who says that "all women’s achievements would not have been possible without the support of our wise leadership, as the contributions of Emirati women have become evident at different levels through the comprehensive support they receive, in continuation of the firm approach of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, "may God rest his soul."
