Asian jailed for publishing video of his friend sleeping in underwear on Facebook in Dubai

The Dubai Misdemeanours Court sentenced an Asian driver, 33, to 3 months in jail, to be followed by deportation after serving his sentence for posting a video clip on Facebook showing an Arab labourer sleeping in his underwear
The details of the case date back to March 2022, when an Arab labourer filed a report stating that a video clip was published for him sleeping in a workers’ accommodation and wearing his underwear.
The complainant stated that the suspect came to his room, photographed him while he was sleeping, and then posted the clip through his account on “Facebook” and republished it in other groups in the complainant’s country.
The complainant added in the interrogations that the suspect’s residency expired and was not renewed, for leaving work, and he came to his room on the morning of the incident, to ask him to mediate with the company’s administration to obtain his financial dues.
In the interrogations, the suspect confessed to his crime that he photographed the victim, to force him to testify that he had not received his salaries from the company, for which they worked.
