Light rain continued to fall in separate areas of the UAE on Wednesday, and fog formed in the early hours of the morning due to weak surface pressure systems, accompanied by a weak atmospheric depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
The fog which lasted for 7 and a half hours, started to form at 01:30 am until 09:00 am on the external roads of the Emirate of Sharjah, Al Rahmaniya, Al Saja’a, Al Suyoh, Maliha, Al Bataeh, Al Dhaid and other areas in Sharjah. It also formed on Mohammed Bin Zayed Street and Emirates Street from Umm Al Quwain.
Intermittent fog also formed on Baynunah-Ruwais road in the Al Dhafra region, on Sharjah International Airport, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and a number of other areas in the country.
On Wednesday evening, separate areas witnessed the continuation of light rain in several areas, as it began in the midst of Al Shakla in Al Ain and other areas.
The lowest temperature of 25 °C was recorded on Wednesday morning in Al Foah in Al Ain at 03:45 UAE local time. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expected Thursday’s weather to be generally clear and partly cloudy in the east, and humid by night and on Friday morning, with the possibility of fog or light fog formation over some interior areas.
On Thursday, winds will be southeasterly, turning to northeasterly and northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times, stirring dust during the day, with a speed of 15 to 25 up to 40 kilometres/hr.
The sea on Thursday will be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman.
According to the NCM, Friday weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy and dusty at times, with a gradual decrease in temperatures by 5 to 6 degrees Celsius, which will be noticeable on the coasts. On Friday night and Saturday morning, the weather will be humid in some northern areas, and winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, gradually active and strong at times on the sea, stirring dust.
The sea is expected to be moderate to turbulent in the Arabian Gulf and light to moderate in the Oman Sea. Saturday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy and dusty at times and humid at night and on Sunday morning in some northern areas.
