British police have arrested a man who tried to approach the coffin of Queen Elizabeth and lift the lid on it, in an accident that stunned mourners.
British police officers confronted the man during the incident, which occurred around ten o'clock on Friday night in Westminster Hall, central London, where the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II is placed, according to the media.
Police said that the man has been arrested after what the force described as a "disturbance” on Friday night in Parliament’s Westminster Hall.
British media said that the man pushed a line of mourners, including a seven-year-old girl, and ran towards the coffin, and tried to lift the lid on it, but the security men confronted him.
Footage showed British police catching the man and throwing him to the ground, before being removed from the hall.
The Queen's coffin has been in Westminster Hall since Wednesday, after it was brought from Buckingham Palace, to allow people to come and pay their respects to the late Queen.
