A number of areas in the country, on Tuesday, witnessed heavy rainfall with hailstones, as a result of the country being affected by extension of surface low pressure system, accompanied with an extension of a weak upper air low pressure system, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Light rain began on Marabt area in Fujairah at 2:30pm and turned heavy on a Maidaq area in Fujairah, while it was moderate on Fali in Sharjah and heavy on Souq Al Juma’a and separate areas in Fujairah. It was light on areas in the city of Al Ain, the NCM said.
The lowest temperature monitored on Tuesday in the country was 22.6°C in Farfar, area, at 02:30pm.

The NCM called on the public to exercise caution during heavy rain and low horizontal visibility, and to stay away from places of surface-run-offs.
The Abu Dhabi Police also urged the drivers to be careful due to the low horizontal visibility, and not to be distracted by phone and photography, calling them to adhere to the variable speed shown on signs and electronic guiding boards.

As for the weather forecast, the NCM has expected that it will be fair in general on Wednesday. Low clouds will appear over the east coast by morning, with a chance of some rainy convective clouds formation eastward and southward by afternoon. It is also expected to be humid by night and Thursday morning over some coastal areas. The winds will be light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times causing blowing dust during daytime, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr. The sea will be slight in Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
On Thursday, the weather is expected to be fair in general. Low clouds will appear over the east coast by morning, with a chance of some rainy convective clouds formation eastward and southward by afternoon. Humid by night and Friday morning with a probability of mist formation over some coastal areas. The winds are expected to be light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly and northwesterly winds freshening at times causing blowing dust, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr. The sea will be slight in Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
The NCM also said that the weather on Friday and Saturday would be fair in general and partly cloudy at times eastwards, with cumulus clouds to tower over the mountains by afternoon. It is also expected to be humid by night and Saturday morning with a chance of fog or mist formation over some coastal and internal areas. The winds will be light to moderate southeasterly becoming northwesterly winds freshening at times causing blowing dust, with a speed of 10 – 25 reaching 35 km/hr. The sea will be slight in Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
