Gulf Today Report
A helicopter crashed after getting tangled in electric power lines in the northeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
Four people miraculously survived the accident.
News reports said the four people were a Brazilian senator, a deputy mayor and two other people, one of whom was the pilot.
The video showed the chopper flying at a low altitude before hitting the power lines where sparks flew, and then the helicopter plunged to the ground.
The plane was preparing to land at a nearby soccer field in the city of Ingenheiro Caldas.
The Brazilian Fire Department said that the power line where the accident occurred caused a fire, which spread to the ground below.
Fortunately, all the passengers survived, but they were injured.
Pictures of the senator Hercilio Deniz and blood covering his head and body as a result of the accident were published, but was not unconscious.
Authorities say the helicopter was part of the fleet of a local air taxi company. It is worth noting that authorities have placed reflective orange balls on the electrical lines, to alert the helicopters, but in this case it was not visible to the pilot.
