Emirates and flydubai said that wearing facemasks on board flights is no longer obligatory on board flights coming to Dubai, while the issue of mandatory wearing of masks is due to the requirements of the final destination for departures from Dubai and transit passengers.
The latest update of Emirates Airlines showed that wearing masks is no longer mandatory on its flights for those coming to Dubai, but it returns to the requirements of the final destination for departures and transit passengers.

According to the update, wearing masks has become optional on Emirates flights.
The airline added that if travelling from or through Dubai International Airport for transit passengers, the rules of masks will be applied according to the requirements of the destination throughout the trip.
A flydubai spokesperson said, “In accordance with the directives issued by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, flydubai has updated the Covid-19 protocols regarding the wearing of a facemask on board its flights.
From September 28, 2022, wearing a mask will be optional for travellers to Dubai. While passengers from Dubai or transiting must wear a mask if this is required at the final destination of their travel.
