The University of Sharjah (UoS) and “etisalat by e&” have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of establishing a sustainable, strategic partnership related to the requirements of both parties. The MoU was signed at the Gitex Global 2022 by Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, on behalf of the University and by Abdul Aziz Hamad Taryam, General Manager of Etisalat Company in the Northern Emirates, representing "Etisalat & e&".
During the signing of the memorandum, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, expressed his happiness over the cooperation, stressing the importance of partnering with national institutes and bodies, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and expertise to serve the community in various fields. He added that the UoS is working according to its strategic plan, in which one of its pillars focuses on building bridges of cooperation with the society and its institutes, studying the subjects of interests for this community and finding applied solutions.

On his part, Abdul Aziz Hamad Taryam, said :” We appreciate the role of the University of Sharjah in building the national cadres and preparing them for the future, and we are happy to implement this cooperation which aims to promote joint work, understand the current and future job market needs, exchange institutional expertise and knowledge between both parties. Based on its role as a leading national company and a pioneer in the technology and telecom sector, “etisalat by e&” will continue to work with leading educational authorities such as the University of Sharjah to serve the people of the country in all fields including the educational sector."
According to the MoU agreement, both parties will work together to develop a sustainable model for the joint strategic cooperation in many areas including the exchange of knowledge, institutional expertise, provide various consultations, conduct joint research studies on what are the job requirements of institutions, and understand the current and future needs. In addition, form a joint work group between the UoS and Etisalat Group to search ways of promoting future cooperation through discussing topics of common interests and proposing a mechanism for cooperation.
The signing ceremony was attended from the University side by Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, Dr. Gordon Handke, Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Khaled Al Raboy, Director of Public Relations Department.
