The Dubai Police, represented by the Security Awareness Department, has fulfilled the wish of a child of determination by helping him experience being a police officer for one day after receiving a request from his father.
Butti Ahmed Bin Darwish Al Falasi, director of the Security Awareness Department in the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, said that this kind gesture is part of Dubai Police's 'Fulfil a Child's Wish' initiative, which aims to spread happiness and positivity among children of different ages and nationalities.
Therefore, a team from the Security Awareness Department welcomed Raad Tariq Salah Badawi at the Dubai Police General HQ and gifted him a police uniform and toys from Hamleys. He also toured the Smart Police Station (SPS). Raad was also surprised and entertained by a special K9 show by the Security Inspection Department (K9) at Dubai Police.
Major Ali Yousef Al Ali, Head of the Cultural Diversity Department in the Security Awareness Department, stressed the Dubai Police's keenness to enhance security and safety and instil happiness among community members. The child's father expressed gratitude to the police for their swift and generous response and for fulfilling his child's wish, which ensured his happiness.
Over Dhs6 million in aid for inmates: The General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions has provided financial assistance to inmates worth Dhs6,570,399 in 2022. These numbers were revealed during the annual inspection carried out by Major General Dr Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidli, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering Affairs, when he was accompanied by Brigadier Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Acting Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, and other senior officers.
Maj. Gen. Al Obaidli praised the initiatives and humanitarian aid that the Department has carried out in 2022, which include granting monthly allowance to inmates' families, paying tuition and housing rents, covering medical treatment for both inmates and their families, settling debts and blood money for inmates, providing travel tickets, and covering expenses on special occasions such as Ramadan and Al Eid. Al Obaidli also hailed the Department's endeavour to provide 7,190 services for inmates and public members during the current year, including issuing certificates and permits for visitations from their families, consuls, and diplomatic bodies to follow up on their citizens' cases.
He also reviewed the statistics of the Education and Training Section, which carried out 30 training courses in 2022. Toward the end of the visit, Maj. Gen. Al Obaidli was briefed on the Department's latest achievement and the future projects on the agenda.
